Super Nintendo World: 8 Bold Predictions For Universal's New Theme Park
6. There's Going To Be A Donkey Kong Minecart Ride
When you ask a Nintendo fan what dream rides they'd like to see in a Nintendo theme park, one of the most frequent answers will be "a Donkey Kong minecart ride". it's easy to see why, given the Donkey Kong minecart levels involve tracks, carts, climbing, falling and enormous dips, just like your average roller coaster.
In fact, there are few more logical candidates for the theme park treatment. And curiously, Universal Studios recently patented several new potential theme park attractions, including one that sounds like it would be absolutely incredible if implemented in a Donkey Kong minecart ride.
The patent details a unique arm that would be attached to a ride vehicle in order control its movement. But given the nature of this arm, the ride vehicle would appear to be on a completely different track (a dummy track, if you will). This means the dummy track could have sections missing, obstacles and other hazards while the vehicle is secretly being controller by the unique arm.
Imagine coming to a break in a minecart track and leaping over to a new track, just like in the Donkey Kong Country series?
