Remember I mentioned earlier that the Peach's castle which appears in the Super Nintendo world concept art is based of off the building found in Mario Kart? Well, I don't think that's a coincidence. In fact, I think it's a clue regarding a potential ride housed within Peach's castle.

Another obvious Nintendo property to draw a ride out of is the Mario Kart series, given that series' popularity but also its utilisation of numerous awesome and frequently wacky vehicles. Of course, building an enormous Mario Kart track and allowing guests to race around it using actual vehicles would be insanely complex and impossible to control effectively, but there's another way around it.

Enter the "dark ride". Dark rides are insanely popular these days, given they need much less space than your typical ride. They typically involve guests being guided round a track but can also utilise screens in order to simulate movement. Universal already has some notable examples, like Transformers: The Ride.

Inside Peach's castle, then, will be a ride which essentially simulates a Mario Kart race. Guests will enter a dozen different carriages in small groups and be able to fire weapons like shells and bananas at each other's virtual on-screen depiction, causing each other's actual vehicles to spin and vibrate upon being hit.

In the end, each carriage will be ranked accordingly based on who they hit and how many times they were hit in return.
