Super Smash Bros. Switch: 10 Overpowered Characters It Must Fix

5. Sonic

Sonic might be a little too fast in Smash.

Despite having some of the most boring special moves in the whole game, Sonic's amazing smash attacks and speed more than make up for it.

In fact, it's this speed that really sets Sonic apart from every other character in the series. As you'd expect, Sonic is unarguably the fastest character in the game, which plays into all of his moveset as well.

This makes it all the more surprising that Sonic actually packs quite a punch too. His combos all deal fairly efficient damage, and his throws can be a great for setting up long chains of attacks.

Another defining feature of Sonic is the fact that his recovery is actually one of the best in the game, as he can also use his side special to recover horizontally. Having all of this plus no major shortcomings means that Sonic has always been a great competitive choice.

If he returns in the newest iteration of Smash, it's likely that he'll get some damage reductions to focus even more on his speed.
