Team Fortress 2: 15 Stupidest Additions So Far

Along with the Pyromania Update back in June of 2012 there was a new game mode introduced called “Special Delivery”, and a map to accommodate the game-mode called sd_doomsday. Both teams were tasked with obtaining an intelligence briefcase (similar to Capture the Flag) and bringing it to a giant elevator situated next to a rocket and slowly ascending to the top (similar to Payload or Payload Race, the game-mode where your team push a bomb cart from point A to point B). Since the game-modes debut nearly three years ago it has had zero new official maps made for it, and players can be forgiven for forgetting that it even exists.

Firstly, two olds don’t make a new (turns out Capture the Flag meets Payload isn’t all that fun), secondly the matches themselves only lasted a couple of minutes, so it would have benefitted from having multiple stages to it. Kudos to Valve for giving new game-modes a try, but sadly this one doesn't get much love from the community.

The “Territories” game-mode is even worse; getting introduced back when the game came out in 2007 and STILL hasn’t been touched since. However, that doesn't count because it wasn't added in a patch, it was there from the start, and people have turned their backs on it. “Special Delivery” seems to be going down the same route.
