Despite its popularity, the Tekken franchise never truly had a major evolution since Tekken 4. Sure, there have been minor changes but overall, each new entry had the same feeling when it came to gameplay.

Thankfully, Tekken 8 feels like the major overhaul the series needed.

Rage Arts return to the game though is easier to perform compared to last time. A new addition, the Heat System, has also been added which encourages players to play more aggressively, enabling time-limited chip damage and enhanced attacks. Animations and movesets have also been updated, making many characters feel brand new.

As a package, Tekken 8 is also filled to the brim with lots of content such as an extended Story Mode that concludes Jin Kazama's character arc and new modes such as Arcade Quest, which serves both as an extended tutorial and as a tribute to arcade fighting game culture in real life.

As many have noticed, Tekken 8 is also a beautiful game to boot, harkening back to days when the franchise was considered a graphical powerhouse.

And so with a refreshed fighting system, great newcomer options and multiple game modes, Tekken 8 is the complete package and is the best place to get into Tekken right now.
