Tekken Tag Tournament was an expansion of the popular Tekken 3 - bringing not just the cast of that game but characters from previous games as well which led to a huge selection of fighters. The gimmick, of course, was the introduction of the Tag System, which allowed players to pick two characters against a pair of opponents.

In terms of gameplay, the Tag System allowed gamers to experiment with various possibilities, as well as assist moves.

The title also improved on Tekken 3's fighting mechanics and was buttery smooth, even making Tekken 2 characters play on the same level as their more recent counterparts. By the time it was released for PlayStation 2, Tekken Tag experienced a graphical leap, showcasing the best visuals and fidelity the new console could deliver. Finally, TTT also allowed couch multiplayer with up to 4 people, making it a very fun game to play during get togethers.

In short, Tekken Tag Tournament was a celebration of what the franchise had achieved in the span of just a few years, remaining one of the biggest titles in the series to date.
