Tekken: Every Game Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was the ultimate celebration of the franchise. After the massive success of Tekken 5 and 6, Bandai Namco released this 2012 entry which brought back every fighter in the series to date.
This led to the return of characters such as Jun Kazama, Michelle Chang, and P-Jack and even deeper cuts such as Dr. Boskonovitch and Miharu Hirano. With a roster like this, players could experiment on their ideal pair and the game even featured more tag assist moves compared to the original Tekken Tag. To date, a lot of hardcore fans of the series are fond of TTT2 for the endless character combinations and the game feeling like a love letter to the series.
That's not to say that the game did not have negatives, however, as the Bound System from Tekken 6 returned.
This led to players feeling like matches were waiting games and made Tag 2 intimidating for newcomers. At the same time, despite being a new entry, the game reused a lot of assets from its predecessors and in a lot of ways, felt too much like Tekken 6.
Sadly, because of those negatives, Tekken Tag 2 was not a financially successful game and despite fan support, nearly killed the franchise.
