Tekken: Every Game Ranked From Worst To Best
11. Street Fighter X Tekken
The idea of crossing over two fighting game giants such as Street Fighter and Tekken seemed like a gold mine, yet why was Street Fighter X Tekken the only major collaboration between the two franchises?
From a gameplay standpoint, the title featured numerous beloved characters from both sides which satisfied both respective fanbases. The fighting, on the other hand, built off what Street Fighter IV started and there was an appeal of seeing the Tekken cast translate into the 2.5D plane.
Unfortunately, the crossover was plagued with Capcom's business practices which led to controversy. SFxT's entire DLC roster was discovered to have been inside the game's disc way before their actual release. At the same time, the Gem System, a feature that gave your fighter enhancements, encouraged players to pay for these to get an advantage during matches.
This led to Street Fighter X Tekken being swallowed by the bad press it received during release, despite being a fun game to play. It also caused the cancellation of Tekken X Street Fighter - a 3D fighting game crossover that would have taken Ryu and the gang into the 3D plane.
