Telltale Games: 10 TV Shows They Should Adapt

1. The X-Files

Background: Through nine seasons and two movies, The X-Files continues to be beloved by fans the world over, so much so that the series is being revived this upcoming January for a six-episode run.

Why It Should: Who wouldn't want to play as Mulder and Scully? A series based on The X-Files could easily take place during previous seasons or, depending on how the revival ends next year, pick up where it left off. The series' format, too, lends itself well to a Telltale series, which could allow for a similar balance of mythology episodes and monster-of-the-week yarns.

Taking a cue from the series, each episode could focus on a new case, bouncing between outright horror or science fiction stories to more lighthearted comedic outings. Whether it's one long case over multiple episodes, three cases spread over two episodes each or two three-episode stories, choices in both dialogue and action could resurface or get referenced from case to case. Throw in appearances by Skinner and other X-regulars and Telltale could give fans one big love letter to the series that has only continued to hold up.

Alternate Fox Series Choice: Like Star Trek, nothing. The X-Files is too awesome a choice to consider anything else, though a wildly different alternative like The Simpsons or former Fox series Futurama would surely please fans of those shows.
