Telltale Games: 10 TV Shows They Should Adapt

8. Oz

Telltale Game of Thrones Tyrion
HBO

Background: HBO's brutal prison drama ran for six seasons between 1997 and 2003.

Why It Should: Before Game of Thrones or The Wire or The Sopranos, there was Oz. Drugs, violence and psychological warfare permeated the everyday lives of the inmates. One wrong move could lead to death and one comment towards another inmate could fester in their heads for days, weeks or years until it motivated them enough to seek revenge.

In essence, a story set in the original era of Oz or even in a new, modern, reopened Emerald City would be perfect for Telltale. Allowing the player to take on the role of a new inmate could open the door to some heavy storytelling, where one small act or line of dialogue could mean the difference between making allies or creating enemies and surviving through another day in Oz or wishing to be put out of your misery.

Alternate HBO Series Choice: While a game set in the world of The Sopranos or The Wire would be cool if done right, it'd be awesome if Telltale could make a Deadwood game, earning the series a legion of new fans while potentially giving closure to those fans who've been left hanging since 2006.
