Terminator Resistance Review

Terminator Resistance Opening
Reef Entertainment

The story is predictable, but at least long term fans of the Terminator franchise will find something satisfying here as Resistance seems to finally fill in just what was going on in the future. Yes, this also ignores ever movie bar, the original Terminator and Judgment Day.

Unlike most licenced games of the early 2000s though, Terminator Resistance isn’t inherently straight up a linear shooter. Branching side quests, optional dialogue trees, characters will remember that and even a few small open-ish world maps are signs that perhaps this wasn’t just rushed to market, although today none of these are special or stand out amongst the competition.

And that is frankly going to be the legacy Terminator Resistance leaves in its wake. A middle to lower tier shooter that has a Terminator skin wrapped around it, but like that one bug alien from the first Men in Black - it doesn’t quite fit and looks a stretched at times.

If bargain bins were still a thing then this would almost certainly end up there after a week or so and it is starting to look like this franchise won't be back. But hey, for all you trophy hunters out there this is an easy platinum.

That all being said, this is probably one of, if not the best Terminator games ever made.
