They are only used once in the film, but there is no mistaking the shock gauntlets that originated in Arkham Origins. The gauntlets add a fun element to combat and riddle-solving in the chronologically-first game of the series. Fans have rightfully asked why the shock gauntlets have failed to appear in Arkham Knight, or anywhere else since the release of Arkham Origins.

In the game, Batman recovers the gauntlets from the corpse of The Electrocutioner. As Batman fights, the shock gloves charge and can deliver a zap to enemies when released. In the movie, shock gloves are already part of his reportoire. Despite appearing to be a very useful gadget, they are utilized just the one time in the movie. One poor thug is dispatched with a shock glove to the throat.

Arkham's shock gloves are a part of the overall narrative. A boss fight with Bane involves using the gloves to both stop and start Bane's heart. After Alfred is attacked in the Batcave, the gloves are once again used to resuscitate the stopped heart. When the inevitable sequel arrives, we can only hope to see this sweet gadget make an expanded appearance.
