The Dark Knight trilogy deserves its accolades, but the one aspect of Batman they failed to capitalize on is his astute detetection skills. While this is a critical component of the games, Hollywood has historically downplayed this in favor of more action. As previously mentioned, Batman has been mostly a hard-knuckled vigilante in the films. The games not only encourage, but require keen detection skills in order to finish.

All four Arkham games (specifially Arkham Knight) involved large, Riddler-centric side missions. Anyone who has completed 100% of all four games will attest to the level of puzzle-solving and searching involved in these quests. Very few missions are soley "beat em' ups". They require both brains and brawn to succeed.

Such is also the case with Matt Reeves' Batman. There is plenty of fighting, but his detective skills are the glue that hold the narrative together. The nature of Riddler's crimes demands such skills in both examples. Batman is specifically targeted by Riddler and must solve his riddles to continue. He cannot simply punch his way through them. He must observe, analyze, track, and THEN beat the tar out of the evildoers.
