The Division: 10 Brand New Details You Need To Know About

2. Crafting Is A Major Part Of Gameplay

Want a game that takes a set of weapons and challenges you to master them across a healthy runtime? Go play Rise of the Tomb Raider, because what The Division is offering is Metal Gear Solid V-levels of gun-porn, except expanded to a degree of detail that's supposed to sustain customisation for years to come. Well, until we get the inevitable sequel, anyway. This isn't a good or bad thing, depending on how much you get stuck into any crafting component of a given game. On the one end of the scale you've got something like Resident Evil or The Last of Us, which will look at a specific number of items in your inventory and then give you the option to meld them together - whereas the other is Fallout 4 or Skyrim. The latter games have literally tens of thousands of individual components making up the weapons themselves, that can all be broken down and reassembled into a million more different configurations. It can be completely off-putting or endlessly engaging, it just depends on your personal taste, but one thing's for certain - nobody thought this feature was anywhere near The Division until the very beginning of 2016.
