The Division: 10 Ways You’re Playing It Wrong

6. You're Hitting The Dark Zone Too Early

Ubisoft always said that their Dark Zone would be brutal, and even during The Division's Beta periods this became abundantly clear to all players. No one could be trusted, with a player who's been supporting your activities for hours just as likely to stab you in the back as one who you encounter upon entry.

Some players are still a tad peeved at just how ruthless this area can be, but by now the majority have embraced it for this. The fact that many new players are delving into the PvP zone within a few hours of reaching the required point is a factor in this, since cannon fodder can be hard to come by in the Dark Zone.

The temptation to dive in early is tough to ignore, and the game's assertions about the way it evens its level brackets are encouraging. This doesn't mean you won't fall foul to savvier players or those with better gear, however, and frustration can quickly get the better of you when things start going wrong.

Take your time with the game's safer areas first; it may feel like a cop out but the last thing you want is to get so annoyed with the game's ruthlessness that you give up before it gets truly engrossing.
