The Elder Scrolls: 10 Best Morrowind Quests

3. The Corprus Cure

Elder Scrolls Morrowind
Bethesda

Without taking too deep a dive into the lore and main story points of Morrowind, one key feature is the potential fulfilment of a prophecy, heralding the return of a long-dead, god-like being: Lord Indoril Nerevar.

This "Nerevarine" would be identifiable by certain traits and abilities, one of which is a resistance to the Corprus disease.

Contracted during the main questline - so unavoidable - Corprus is thought incurable by the people of Tamriel.

Upon consulting your ally Caius Cosades, there's a glimmer of hope that a cure is within the realms of possibility - it will just be a very difficult and laborious undertaking involving a Dunmer wizard.

Winning the favour of said wizard - Divayth Fyr - you are set on a path to obtain various items for the mage in return for his help in crafting the cure (which is not even guaranteed to work in the first place).

Journeying to the Corprusarium, you are subject to the attentions of the various inmates within, each with their own thoughts about you and your presence among them.

Returning to the sorcerer, you take the cure which does actually work..... on you.

It kills all subsequent test subjects with zero percent success.

The prophecy must be true...
