The Elder Scrolls: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Khajit

For the Khajiit, the two moons in the Elder Scrolls universe of Masser and Secunda are absolutely everything. Not only are they seen as the protectors of Mundus from Aetherius, but the entire form a Khajiit is born as is dependant on which cycle of the moons they are born under.

So when there's an entire society that revolves around something that suddenly vanishes, it's a good bet to imagine things going to be a bit chaotic.

That's exactly what happened to the Khajiit during an event known as the Void Nights. For two whole years during the fourth era Mundus' two moons suddenly disappeared from the night sky, sending the entirety of Elsewyr into disarray.

The Aldmeri Dominion eventually stepped in and miraculously brought the moons back, bringing a return to normality and placing Elsewyr firmly under the political hold of the Thalmor.

But what really happened during the Void Nights?

Did the Thalmor really do the biggest service for the Khajiit and get a lucrative deal out of it? Did they just sense an opportunity and get lucky?

Or, and this seems most likely given what Skyrim players know of the Dominion, was the whole crisis a carefully co-ordinated move with some seriously sinister motives behind it?
