The Elder Scrolls 6: 9 Fan Theories That Must Come True

3. Focus On Environment Interactivity Over Visuals

Bethesda's games have never really been that pretty. Sure, the studio absolutely nails art direction, but from a pure technical standpoint, they've always been far behind the competition. That hasn't stopped them tweaking their engine over the years though, with the upcoming Fallout 76 offering a pretty substantial visual upgrade compared to the previous title.

That said, despite how much fans have begged for an Elder Scrolls with the same visuals as The Witcher 3, Bethesda's focus has always been elsewhere. Around the time Skyrim released, the studio made it clear that their focus isn't on pure graphical prowess, but rather making the world itself more interactive going forward.

Base building was obviously an attempt at that, but with the upcoming sequel fans want to see even more ways to interact with the environment.

More control over the sandbox is something that Bethesda have been trying to achieve for years, and to truly be able to influence the world with your actions - outside of single characters and quest- is what fans demand with their next project.
