The Elder Scrolls 6: 9 Things It Must Do Better Than Skyrim

1. Combat

Bethesda's had seven years to mull over its options on how to make combat more engaging, and we have every faith that it'll see the necessity to reinvent the formula on a more drastic scale than adding ear-splitting Shouts with superfluous effects.

Could it opt to go the route of Ubisoft's For Honor and make every clash of cold steel a back and forth of parries, ripostes and combo-based button presses? Absolutely, though such a demanding system could turn off longtime fans.

The other alternative is one that's been staring Bethesda in the face since 2014. Elder Scrolls Online supplements the series' simple swordplay with a smorgasbord of different abilities depending on class choice that evolve to take on different properties.

Grafting that frame onto ESO VI and housing it in a new engine wouldn't just inject some much-needed strategy into the mix, but remedy a handful of other issues laid bare up to this point. Perfect.
