The Elder Scrolls VI: 10 Things Bethesda Can't Afford To Get Wrong

9. No More Fetch Quests!

This has been a problem throughout the entirety of the Elder Scrolls series, a problem that was just as prevalent in Skyrim as it was in Morrowind; no more fetch quests! They€™re the ultimate filler, existing purely to pad out the runtime and really justify that €œOver 200 Hours!€ tagline on the back of the box. It€™s a completely transparent practise and it actively cheapens the enjoyability of the game. Every time some random villager asks you to fetch a sword from a blacksmith in another town, reacquire some stolen family heirloom or deliver a letter to someone halfway across the map, you€™re basically just engaging in busywork. Quests like that exist purely to give the player something to do, and it€™s about time the series moved away from them.
