The Elder Scrolls VI: 10 Things Bethesda Can't Afford To Get Wrong
9. No More Fetch Quests!
This has been a problem throughout the entirety of the Elder Scrolls series, a problem that was just as prevalent in Skyrim as it was in Morrowind; no more fetch quests! Theyre the ultimate filler, existing purely to pad out the runtime and really justify that Over 200 Hours! tagline on the back of the box. Its a completely transparent practise and it actively cheapens the enjoyability of the game. Every time some random villager asks you to fetch a sword from a blacksmith in another town, reacquire some stolen family heirloom or deliver a letter to someone halfway across the map, youre basically just engaging in busywork. Quests like that exist purely to give the player something to do, and its about time the series moved away from them.
