The Elder Scrolls VI: 10 Things Bethesda Can't Afford To Get Wrong

8. Better Puzzles

Sometimes you€™ll come across a puzzle in an Elder Scrolls game, sometimes. They usually involve matching images on the walls of dungeons with rounded stones on the floor, trying to work out whatever combination is required to progress. Besides that, there are puzzle doors that also involve matching images on a doorway with images carved onto dragon puzzles, otherwise known as keys. It€™s all very simple and requires little effort or thought; in fact, you can just power through most of them using the process of elimination. This is a huge issue that the series needs to overcome. Dungeons could benefit hugely from a sense of actual complexity, rewarding the player for solving some kind of puzzle, rather than just clearing out room after room of Draugrs.
