6. Encumbrance Removal
How to divide a room of Elder Scrolls fans in two words? "Encumbrance removal" Honestly, I think it hampers the enjoyment of the game in multiple ways. We've all been there a million times - you're out in the world, quest-happy and full of items that are going to be used for a mix of crafting, selling and equipping later on. You come across a random dragon or high-level enemy, and as much as you enjoy getting your Gandalf on and taking the hulking beast down, it's a sharp sensation of disappointment when you can't then bring home the spoils of the encounter because they're simply too heavy. Really, what does encumbrance serve? All it does is restrict you from feeling confident when embarking on a longer stint of exploration, as even if you leave some items in a specific place (which in fairness, the game will remember), there's no easy way to return other than trekking back again. If they must have a limit on your inventory, make it item-specific. No more than four of a certain thing - just anything that doesn't essentially punish you for playing in the first place.
