The Greatest Video Game Football Team Of All Time

5. CM - Matteo Brighi (FIFA 2003)

Matteo Brighi is well known for being FIFA's second highest rated player of all time. A quick Google search will reveal dozens of articles about the man, his FIFA rating and his real life career. Despite all of the attention this topic received over the years, nobody has ever been able to officially confirm why EA Sports decided to declare Brighi the best player in the world back in 2002.

Sure, he had a promising start to his Juventus career, making 12 appearances alongside Zidane, Davids, and Conte in the 2000/01 season. Things got even better from there, as he featured in two UEFA European Under-21 Championships, a semi-finalist in 2002 and a winner in 2004.

Sadly, due to injuries and the complicated nature of Italian football's player ownership model, Brighi never managed to settle anywhere. His best spell came at Roma between 2007 and 2011, the first club where he experienced some sort of stability. Unfortunately, he was deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Luis Enrique at the start of the 2011/12 season and the same career trend reestablished itself.

In the digital world though, Brighi did manage to reach his full potential. With his maxed out stats, he could tackle and boss a midfield like Vieira. His pace and dribbling meant that he could scythe through defenses like a prime Kaka. Perfect passing and a rocket of a shot put him alongside Nedved in terms of guaranteeing goals from midfield. He really had it all.

Matteo Brighi, un campione per sempre!
