The Greatest Video Game Football Team Of All Time

4. RM - Espinas (Pro Evolution Soccer 2)

Somewhere between Eric Cantona and Emmanuel Petit, there is Espinas. The made-up Master League default player might not have made any recorded statements about seagulls and trawlers, or appear on any Ruby Wax documentaries, but he was regarded by many as the epitome of cool in the early 2000s.

Blessed with devilish good looks and talent to back up the marketing hype, he was Les Bleus' answer to David Beckham. Graduating alongside Valery at Clairefontaine, Espinas immediately made an impact on the footballing world with his ability to score wonder goals.

A tricky dribbler, with deceptive pace and good balance, he was the man asked to run at opposition defenses. His passing was good enough to set up plenty of goal scoring opportunities for team mates, and combined with an accurate shot, Espinas could always be counted on to deliver something special in times of need.

Despite his mercurial reputation, he was pretty consistent on the pitch. This certainly aided his massive trophy haul and cult-hero status. Life after football saw him move to a digital version of Tokyo, where he now runs a Michelin Star winning restaurant, specializing in tartiflette.
