The Legend Of Zelda: 10 Best Intro Dungeons

9. Skyward Sword: Skyview Temple

Taking a cue from Twilight Princess, the Skyview Temple is a gorgeous location as memorable for its unique aesthetic as for the puzzles contained therein.

Skyward Sword's reliance of motion controls and use of the Nintendo Wii Remote Plus might not have been to everybody's taste, but Nintendo did its best to sell this concept in the first dungeon of the game.

Tasking players to practice meticulous slingshot aiming, using the Beetle (the franchise's best new item since the Gust Jar) to do some remote drone-like dungeon exploring, and well-timed swings of the Wii Remote to clear a path of hanging skulltulas, the Skyview Temple throws everything at the player to help them get their head around all the ways the Wii Motion Plus can be used to effectively aid Link on his quest.

The dungeon is a sprawling expanse built around a central concourse, tasking players to become intimately familiar with each and every room in order to defeat it.

What's more, the dungeon actually culminates with Link's first encounter with Ghirahim, the main villain of Skyward Sword, helping craft a sense of personal rivalry not seen in other games of the series.
