1. Leave Time Travel In The Past
Its no surprise that Nintendo wanted to have another stab at the time-warping side of things after the success of Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask, but its inclusion in Skyward Sword fell pitifully short. For those who havent played the last proper Zelda, one portion of the game saw you hitting special crystals that cast a field of time, bringing the affected areas back to their past glory. Sounds okay, right? Nope, it was actually the most uncharacteristically laborious part of a game that was already trying to be more digestible than its predecessors. It was also set in a mine, not a location traditionally known for being huge amounts of fun to spend time in, and made you rely on slow moving carts to move the past around. Basically, if you could get through this without hurling the pad into a fire, you deserve a medal. If youre going to use time travel as a device, then you really do have to immerse the game in it, not just throw it into the mix as a one-off arena-based gimmick. Please, Nintendo, stick to just the three dimensions this time.
