The Sims 4: 10 Past Features EA Should’ve Never Taken Out

8. An Open World

If Grand Theft Auto is able to have a full open world without loading screens, then why doesn't The Sims 4 do the same?

The Sims 3 is the only game to have an "open world" where there were no restrictions to where you could travel within a neighbourhood. If you wanted to go fishing at the end of the land, then by all means, you can do so.

In the original Sims all you could do was stay at home, but Sims 2 saw you able to travel to other lots/areas, but that was it. In The Sims 4's version of "open world", you're able to do the same as in Sims 2 once again - travelling to other lots, but there are restricted areas that your Sim isn't able to go at all.

This is a bit of a 50/50 problem with players, as many don't like to be restricted, but others noted 3's open world often glitched out, or caused everything to lag. Another issue everyone seems to have is the fact that going from one lot to another brings about a loading screen, something that can take ages for a Sim to get from one point to another.
