8. Moldorm - A Link To The Past

A Link to the Past's most frustrating moment isn't a mechanic or a level; it's a boss. The third dungeon guardian is a giant monster called Moldorm who zips around the room at top-speed.

After Link slices his tail-tip a few times, the overgrown worm will drop dead. If you hit any other part of his body, you will be knocked back. At a glance, this creepy-crawly doesn't seem too bad. In fact, he's kind of cute. But don't let this googily-eyed creature deceive you! He's pure evil!

Moldorm constantly bashes into you, which can force you to fall into the gaping hole near the room's centre. If you fall off, you don't just reappear in the arena. Instead, you will land in another room.

Ok, that seems irritating because it breaks up the fight. But it's so much worse than that. When you re-enter the boss's lair, his health has been fully replenished, meaning you have to start the battle all over again.

Now, it's unlikely Moldorm will kill you since his attacks don't do much damage. But he'll test your patience more than any other enemy after he knocks you out of his lair for the umpteenth time.
