The Single Most Annoying Part Of Every Main Series Zelda Game

6. The Time-Travelling Mechanic - Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, the world of Termina is set to be destroyed within three days (which is just under an hour in real time). Link can use his ocarina to reset the timeline whenever he wants, returning him to the first day.

When Link does this, he will lose minor items like Stray Fairies and Keys but keep important collectibles like weapons, masks, and maps.

Sadly, this time-travel mechanic isn't as fun as it sounds. What do you do when the time is about to expire while fighting a boss? If you don't kill the boss in time, you will lose all your progress from your last save point.

If you travel back to the first day, you have to do the dungeon all over again. Either way, you can't win. The Legend of Zelda always focuses on exploration. You can't do that in certain sections of Majora's Mask since you are always against the clock.

Also, the saving option is pointlessly complicated. Although you automatically save when you reset time, you can't save any other way unless you quit the game. Why do you have to quit when you save? Why can't you just continue?
