Well rejoice all ye Gwent players, because now the card game is becoming a bona fide, real-life thing. If you order the $20 boxed edition of Hearts of Stone, then you get two decks of Gwent cards featuring Monsters and Scoia'tael. If you bought the Witcher 3 Expansion Pass, then you can also buy the playing cards, but you'll need to enter your details into this form to obtain a special code first. Gwent was almost excluded from The Witcher 3 altogether, with CD Projekt RED Head Adam Badowski initially dismissing it as an "insane" idea. Now, with the card game set to make the jump from the digital to the physical realm, his decision to include it looks nigh-on ingenious. Magic: The Gathering better watch its back, because there's a new fantasy card game in town! Hearts of Stone will be released October 13. The digital version can currently be pre-ordered for $8.50/£7, thanks to a temporary 15% discount. The boxed version of the expansion will cost $19.99, and come with two decks of Gwent playing cards.
