The Witcher 4: 5 Ways To Do The Perfect Sequel
4. A Ciri Sequel
This one is highly sought after by a fanbase yearning for more of the ashen-haired witcheress. In many ways, Wild Hunt was her story just as much as it was Geralt's, with the chief difference being that for her, it was a beginning rather than an end.
There would be certain complications in attempting to make this, however. For one, a game where she chose the life of a witcher and a game where she took the throne of Nilfgaard would be two completely different games. There would not be a game at all if she died stopping the White Frost. It's unlike CDPR to simply disregard the impact of player choice. Any narrative taking place after Witcher 3 would have to take it into account.
Then there's the issue of gameplay. A Ciri game would be a game set in The Witcher world rather than a Witcher game; the reasons being her extraordinary powers as portrayed in Wild Hunt, and the fact that, unlike a witcher, she cannot drink potions or cast signs, which would differentiate the combat system from Geralt's tremendously.
With that being said, a game where the player controls Ciri as Empress of Nilfgaard and has to tackle all the duties that come with ruling an empire, such as keeping the economy in check, dealing with the concerns of the populace, commanding armies, etc., sounds boldly intriguing.
