These Horror Video Games SUCK!

3. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

The Walking Dead TV Series is one that did so much right for the genre that it was hard to see where it could go wrong. For years all people could talk about were Walkers, Rick Grimes, and how Season 2 kinda really sucked but everyone just kept going with it despite very little happening. It was grim, it was gritty, it was basically the perfect Zombie Show, and the video games attached to it also seemed to follow suit.

The exceptional Telltale series proved above all else that choose your own adventure titles still held relevancy in the modern age, No Man's Land proved to be an enjoyable turn-based strategy game, and Saints and Sinners was a brutally visceral VR experience that turned my stomach for all the right reasons.

Yet much like everyone's favorite zombie from the aforementioned Season 2, there have been some utter fat floaters in the series that look to sully the good waters of the IP, namely Survival Instincts and the ungodly abomination that was Overkills The Walking Dead, a game that was so bad that it was permanently deleted and we're eternally grateful for that.

However what we're infinitely less thankful for is the fact that Survival Instincts still exists, a lingering reminder of the worst Walking Dead going. Everything about this experience is comically bad, from its graphics that look like someone gobbed on the camera lens, to the AI which is so braindead that even a real-life Zombie would look at it and call it dumb, Survival Instincts has literally nothing going for it, serving up a bland, pre-chewed wad of paper and asking if you want a slice. This was less a title that sunk its teeth in deep, and more of a dispassionate gum-job.

No thanks mate, I'll pass on this "Season 7" !*$% you're trying to peddle.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
