These Video Game Sequels Suck!

1. Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite

Let’s end on a real stinker.

Marvel Vs Capcom is a franchise that really has been dragged through the mud with its latest instalment. The series had been riding an esports high for years, and Marvel Vs Capcom 2 still remains one of my favourite games.

However, when it came to Infinite, they seemed to have dropped the ball. In fact, I think that’s a call coming in.

Hello, Ways-To-Break-A-Franchise? A subsidiary of Capcom for the purposes of this skit? Jules speaking. How can I help you? Oh, of course, you want a sequel for the very popular MVC series. Well, let’s see what I can do for you. Looking here, we can give you less character selection, a really ugly art style that looks as appealing as Willem Dafoe in a string mesh thong, a story at is utter toss, and all of the moves from everyone's favourites tweaked so much they feel useless.

Yes... that means no Xmen… no Fantastic four ... yes Captain America will look like a jug-eared fool. What’s that? You want to know why anyone would want this? Erm, well it's got gems in it, and we can charge extra for the pre-order edition? Hello? Hello?!

So yeah, not the best follow up to the series and the body blow of anaemic roster selection and a stupid reliance on gimmick gems really didn’t sit well with fans. In fact, reception to the game was so bad that Capcom have put this series on hiatus for a while to work on a reboot that will simply be called Marvel Vs Capcom 4, thereby wiping Infinite out of existence.

Oof.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
