THIS Is The Perfect Red Dead Movie
4. Michael Mando As Abraham Reyes
We never got any indication as to Abraham Reyes's age. He looked weathered, but hey, leading a revolution will do that to you. Let's operate under the assumption that he was in his early- to mid-30s in 1911, when the first game takes place. By 1914, he'd be somewhere between 35 and 40. Michael Mando is 39, so that lines up.
Michael Mando brings charm and heart to his roles. He's a very likeable guy, as is Reyes (or at least he was, before he became a brutal dictator - though he's probably still got plenty of charisma, what with him being the leader of the nation). Mando is also capable of bringing an incomparable, simmering intensity, something befitting of an authoritarian tyrant.
If you've seen his masterful turn in Better Call Saul, you know he's good at playing a man who's in WAY over his head. Abraham Reyes is much the same. He's a spoiled rich kid who wanted to play revolutionary, and when he finally got his way, he realized that he had no idea how to handle the power or responsibility of political leadership, quickly devolving into the sort of tyrant he wanted to free Mexico from in the first place.
