A Drake for Every Season

Should Uncharted continue, it seems increasingly unlikely that Nathan Drake reprises his role as the series star. His story reached a wonderful conclusion in the series’ fourth outing on home consoles as Drake finally found contentment with his suburban life. Thankfully, over the 13 years of its existence, Uncharted has developed a smattering of characters more than suitable to fill the void left by our unlikely hero.

Be it Sam’s adventures with Sully or Nate’s daughter Cassie resuming the life her father once led, the central character that continues the series is of less concern than the locations they visit, which has our minds racing at just where that place could be.

Cassie, of course, seems the obvious choice to resume her father's antics, as her interest in archaeology, fascination with historical happenings and sarcastic personality immediately align with what the player has become used to with Nate. The epilogue of 2016's Uncharted 4 served as both a heartwarming conclusion to Nate's globe-trotting adventures and introduction to an immediate fan favourite, and Cassie's likeable attitude and youthful charisma imply that her story is one that Naughty Dog (or maybe even a new studio) may return to down the line.
