Titanfall 2: 10 Key Things It Needs To Get Right
3. Add Serious Amounts Of Customization
Fans complained day in and day out about how Titanfall left players with the inability to customize absolutely anything. Gamers have become accustomed to the ability to change gun camos, the way their player looks and even a calling card. All of this was absent from Titanfall. A tiny bit of customization was added in long down the road with the ability to put a small emblem on your Titan - not truly breathtaking stuff, but that's precisely why it should be included, no questions asked.
The ability to customize gun appearance, pilot appearance and especially Titan appearance needs to be present. In Titanfall it's supposed to be believed your Titan is your companion - an OS is even onboard that welcomes you every time you step on. There's no better way to sell that than the ability to make your Titan look how you want, whether it be by customizing the decals, colors or even customizing the Titan weapons.
All this would be simply aesthetic, and in no way change the game, but would be a good form of immersion for players.
It doesn't have to stop there, either. Adding a forge mode would be a good addition as well - as DOOM has recently proven with its ace SnapMap feature. There are many creative gamers out there that can create absolutely astonishing things in a forge-style mode - just imagine something like an insane free running race map or ejecting up onto an airborne platform where a deathmatch is taking place. It would only add to the longevity of the game.
