TMNT: Mutants In Manhattan - 10 Things Fans Are Going To Love
2. Platinum Games' Signature Beat Em' Up Style
Anyone who's anyone knows that Platinum are no strangers to the ostentatious. Having championed the success of Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, and Transformers: Devastation, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themselves would seem a natural fit. Indeed, confirmation of that fact has come in the past few weeks - supported by the turtles' inherent zaniness and the apparent ease in which the studio have taken to the characters.
It's not all visual however, as classic boss fights, skirmishes and more are all accompanied by the combo-centric gameplay that the studio have, up to this point, arguably perfected. There are no cheap gimmicks with this one, it's all just classic beat em' up hack n' slash action from start to finish, which, to be honest, is all the turtles really need.
In retrospect, it really is quite hilarious just how often studios have managed to fudge what by all means should be an easy enough universe to tackle. In a generation marketing itself on HD visuals, gimmicky virtual reality and motion controls, it is ironically the back to basics approach that's finding an audience best.
