Tomb Raider: Ranking Every Game From Worst To Best
9. Tomb Raider III: Adventures Of Lara Croft
The first of many games Core Design was forced by Eidos Interactive to make after Tomb Raider II (it is all about the green after all, and that’s not talking about the grass in the jungles), despite being churned out for profit, that doesn’t make this entry any less creative. Thanks to the addition of a sprint ability, crawling, and a variety of new death traps galore.
Also the only Tomb Raider game that allows you to choose the order in which you visit the locales, so you can retrieve the four Polynesian crystals.
(Helpful Hint: Do Nevada first, you get your weapons confiscated during one of it’s levels, and if you do it last, you might not get all of them back, leaving you underpowered the rest of the game)
Even though Chronicles has a variety of locations AND points in Lara’s life, Tomb Raider III arguably has an even more bold variety.
With storylines featuring cannibalism, aliens, and genetic manipulation, just to name a few, it’s like Indiana Jones meets X-Files, a crossing of genres that shouldn’t work, but somehow does.
