Tomb Raider: Ranking Every Game Worst To Best
1. Rise Of The Tomb Raider
The original Tomb Raider was grandiose and spectacular for the standards set back in its day and its rebooted counterpart was pretty credulous too. Some might argue that Tomb Raider 2 dwarves both, and if they're referring to this iteration, then they're incredibly adept at comprehending game design.
The second of the reboot trilogy is a masterclass in everything a third-person, action-oriented sequel strives to be. It's perfectly paced, the combat is delicately refined, and the stories fleshed out enough to be engrossing without becoming distracting or convoluted. In this entry Lara has grown and adapted into the role that she's - now - willingly taking on.
After most of her friends were brutally slaughtered in the prior entry, Lara continues her endeavour to practically take down an entire faction while avenging the people she's lost. Or a person - in reference to her father - as the previously mentioned squad is ancient bloody history at this point. Well, all except for Jonah, the only hindrance the game has to offer.
The benefits of this title, though, besides the decadent campaign, are the multitude of game modes that range from fanastical to simply fantastic. The game's packed to the rafters with fanfare so superlative that it's a little serendipidous to a lot of rival franchises.
