Tomb Raider: Ranking Every Game Worst To Best

18. Lara Croft Go

Tomb raider underworld

Mobile phone games aren't always going to be exempt from these lists, and in reality, they never should be - especially when they find an unprecedented market on home consoles. Well, unless their only reason for existing is to cut a hole in your wallet and gradually drain all the funds through micro-transactions. Tomb Raider Go, on the contrary, is a title that shows its player base respect and its IP a level of understanding you rarely see with these titles.

Understandably, with its limited nature, it's never going to compare to the vaster, more fleshed out instalments from any generation of the legendary adventurer, but it certainly takes a swinging stab at it.

The game's beautifully designed environments, puzzle-based exploration and simple, yet immersive, mechanics are everything you expect to see in one of miss Croft's adventures. The basis of a stellar Tomb Raider adventure is unquestionably there, but, as mentioned earlier, in a canon that contains some of gaming's all-time best titles, this one was always going to slip through the cracks.

It's worth checking out if you're a hardcore fan, but other than that, it would be more fruitful to spend your leisurely time playing a more superlative iteration.
