Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure Review

Two Of Them?!

Twin Breaker Greetings and Salutations

The entire premise of Twin Breaker is that the American government are sending ships out in hope of finding new worlds and when these ships come close, they launch Greetings and Salutations piloted by Colin and Chris, the respective hosts of the Sacrad Symbols Podcast. So of course, it makes sense to double the ball-bouncing fun.

As mentioned earlier, this game is a love letter to Arkanoid and Breakout, which are brick breakers of old, and Twin Breaker starts off very similar to it these grandfathers of the genre.

Though, controlling two paddles from the get-go adds a unique layer of challenge, as players will need to get used to spitting their concentration between two venerable goals.

Power-ups are also a major part of this adventure as Greetings and Salutations will need these to make it through the 40 story levels. These range from multiball, changing the size or speed of the paddles, manipulating the ball and strapping guns on your trusty ships. At a moment's notice these can really get the player out of a pinch.

Without spoiling anything, this ramps up midway through the game and at this point Twin Breaker takes the step from casual romp, to a pretty hardcore experience at times. Especially if players seek to obtain the S Rank.

This all works of course, because of Lillymo Games has crafted such a tight experience.

Whenever the player fails at a certain level of challenge, the player knows it was down to them needing to get better and not because the game cheated me from my goal.
