Uncharted: 10 Game Elements That Should Be In The Film

2. Insane Action Set-Pieces

Whether you're fighting atop a speeding train, being chased by a tank, running through a burning chateau or escaping a crumbling building, Uncharted is renowned for its frequent, impeccable action set-pieces.

Like the supernatural twist, this is something the series is known for (it's arguably its USP) and it would feel jarring if the movie didn't feature anything of the sort - and some of the stuff that's in the games would be absolutely spectacular on a gigantic movie screen.

However, the games build action around story, not story around action, and the film must do the same. Don't go all Fast & Furious and dream up the most ludicrous concept imaginable, then work your plot around that. Uncharted never forgets to make sense, and the action always happens for a reason.

The only thing the film must avoid here is just plain copying the game. Sure, another action scene aboard a moving train is fine, but don't follow the one from Uncharted 2 beat-for-beat. Play with the concept in a different way, and deliver something more suitable for a passive watching experience.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
