Uncharted: 10 Jaw-Dropping Scenes We Couldn't Believe

9. Pub Brawl - Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Finding a way to grip the player's attention that surpassed that of a literal cliffhanger as the train balances on a Himalayan peak felt like an impossible feat. Having to match the spectacular opening of its prececessor was surely a colossal task, but Uncharted 3 somehow succeeds in doing so.

Instead of attempting to further elevate the spectacle of the second game's opening, Uncharted 3 took a rather different approach to its introduction, opting for an unsettling encounter with one of the game's main antagonists before engaging in a lengthy bar fight in a London drinking den.

After a shifty attempt at trading Sir Francis Drake's ring with villain Talbot goes wrong, Nate and Sully are soon faced with a sea of brutish London thugs to fight through. The focus on melee combat was a fresh change, and the emphasis on Nate and Sully's antics provided a perfect introduction for what was to come.

It felt like such a natural place to begin, and Uncharted 3's story goes from strength to strength before its conclusion some 10 hours later.

Fan of ducks, ice tea and escapism. Spends much of his time persistently saying 'I have so much studying to do' before watching Zoey 101 for the millionth time. Thinks Uncharted 3 is the best one.
