Uncharted: 10 Jaw-Dropping Scenes We Couldn't Believe
8. Rapids - Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Perhaps doomed to a life of obscurity as the severely underappreciated PlayStation Vita whiffed in the sales department, Nate's sole journey on Sony's glitzy PSP replacement was sorely underplayed, and should have been anything but.
So many handheld iterations of console series' are mediocre attempts to rekindle the magic of the series in the palm of your hand, but Golden Abyss truly felt like a console quality Uncharted adventure on the go.
Golden Abyss introduced us to a new cast of characters, some intriguing and some incredibly formulaic (does anyone remember Guerrero?), with a segment involving a canoe and a river of harsh rapids perhaps being the highlight.
A mistake on Nate's part sees the pair heading straight for a waterfall, before frantically swiping the screen to save the pair only to run into a lengthy firefight on the way back.
It's so gratifying hearing Nate and Sully go back and forth with witty banter and playful dialogue. Nolan North's chemistry with Richard McGonagle (Nate and Sully respectively) shines perhaps more than it ever has before here. Golden Abyss is a must play for fans of the genre, and the tumultuous journey on the water is its crowning jewel.
