Uncharted 4: 10 Awesome Fan Theories You Need To Know

3. The Delgrave

Speaking of pirates and Madagascar, the location is a well-known hotspot for shipwrecks as well. One such famous shipwreck is the Delgrave, which ran aground near Madagascar back in 1703. One of the survivors of that shipwreck was Robert Drury. Drury was 17 when he was stranded in Madagascar and would spend the next 15 years having adventures with the Antandroy and surviving on the West Coast. He later returned to Britain, where he turned his story into a book, which proved to be an instant success. 'What has that got to do with Uncharted 4?' you may ask. Well, in the original teaser trailer that covered the map and everything else, the narrator can be heard claiming that he was €œlost for 15 years€ while €œrotting in a hellhole€. Given the time periods in question, Robert Drury€™s story fits perfectly. That has led theorists to suggest he may well be the villain of the piece in Uncharted 4. Quite how he would link up to Francis Drake is at this point a bit of a mystery, because their timelines are so far apart while Nathan is even further away in terms of years. Some theories have suggested there may be a supernatural element to it all, while others have offered the opinion that perhaps Drury€™s distant relatives may be trying to exact revenge on behalf of their long dead ancestor.
