As mentioned previously, Naughty Dog has had quite the switch-up when it comes to core staff members leaving this year, and if there's one franchise that's going to feel it the most in the script department, it's Uncharted, thanks to creative director Amy Hennig not being around for part four. Instead it's Last of Us' Neil Druckmann who's taking up lead scriptwriting duties once again, as although he was part of the team for Uncharted 3, the vast majority of the creative decisions were handled by Hennig. Druckmann's work on LoU speaks for itself, with the characters of Joel and Ellie easily entering the history books as some of the most well-realised and relatable in the history of the medium. Although Druckmann's work on Uncharted 2 gave many fans their best entry in the trilogy, it stands to reason that he'd take some cues from the more emotional side of things to round off part four's story. After all, the subtitle here is 'A Thief's End', and although that could be referring to Troy Baker's voicing of Drake's brother Sam meeting an untimely end, if Druckmann and his team can deliver anything as incredibly impactful, unique and subtly affecting as that final LoU shot, everyone's in for quite the treat.
