In the original Uncharted, it was the statue of El Dorado. The second time around it was the lost city of Shambhala and the time after that, it was the lost city of Ubar. Simply put, the only thing more annoying than Nathan Drake's suspicious affinity for discovering lost civilisations is the fact that come the end of the game, the historical artefact always gets destroyed. When yet another lost city popped up in Uncharted 3, it felt like an unwelcome shot of deja-vu - and this feeling worsened when yet again, the city crumbled around our heroes. Thankfully, what little we do know of Uncharted 4's plot hasn't yet revealed a lost city or mythical artefact of any kind. Although, given Uncharted's preoccupation with historical relevance, it's a sure bet that something of this nature will rear its head. However, things should be different this fourth time around, and the expensive archaeological goldmine should not meet its maker.
Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
