Uncharted 4: 10 Things That Need To Happen

3. Unresolved Questions Get Answers

Do we really know who Nathan Drake is? Uncharted 3 seems to think so, its confident, flashback-infused narrative lending much historical exposition to the story of our charming hero. However, anyone who completed that game would leave feeling unsure about this man, with a number of questions being raised that put his motives in serious doubt. The most prominent of these is in regard to his surname, Drake. Katherine Marlowe calls him out on that, telling him she knows who he really is, and what his real name is. The moment passes, the end of the game arrives, and.... nothing. Probably the most intriguing plot point out of any entry in the series is left dangling, and this incurred the wrath of many a passionate fan. Speaking of Uncharted 3, this wasn't the only unanswered question that reared its head. How did Marlowe and Talbot predict the burning tower? How did Talbot so easily survive a bullet in the chest? Where did the spiders come from, and why did they appear all over the globe? Now, it's incredibly obvious that 99 percent of these unresolved issues will remain so, with Uncharted 4 possessing a wildly different creative team than the one that worked on Uncharted 3. That being said, it would almost seem unfair to not address any of these questions, in any capacity - would a throwaway line of dialogue be so much to ask for? Only time will tell, and until the end of April, fans will have to put up with the gut-wrenching feeling that the questions they've waited five years to have answered may remain a mystery for eternity.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
