Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - 5 Things We Learned From E3

3. Things Are Getting Spooky

It's no Evil Within, but the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - the first game in the series - had its moments. The franchise has rarely strayed into outright horror since, but that first time was memorable enough thanks to some undead Spaniards baying for our blood. Well, the second game had a Yeti sneaking up and growling at you, but that hardly compares to the stomach-turning terror we felt when we stumbled across a group of running zombies right when we thought we knew all the game could throw at us. It was a divisive moment, and there haven't been too many moments like that since, as the threat to the player character has usually taken the form of other human beings with guns who you can easily dispatch with your own. There are hints of creepiness when you're sneaking through the jungle or an old crypt and flinching at every little sound, but it's not really the same thing. Considering the dark tone of this teaser, and the slow panning shot to the final glimpse of cages hung from trees containing the skeletons of - pirates? Former adventurers? Prisoners? We get the feeling that Thief's End could feature a few more of those chilling moments similar to the first game (drawing another parallel to The Last Of Us, as a matter of fact).
