Undertale: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

Like father, like son.

Seeing the King of the Monsters (Asgore, not Godzilla) so low on the list is a testament to how strong and consistent the rest of the characters are. Asgore acts as one of the main villains of the story, but his motive is full of heartbreak and tragedy, as he's one of the most conflicted characters in the entire game.

Throughout your playthrough, you'll hear plenty of references to how kind, caring and sweet Asgore is. Yet, this seems to go against what you also hear of his actions, i.e. killing children, taking their souls and planning to break the barrier and launch an attack on the human world. But, once you meet him, the picture becomes clear.

Asgore genuinely is a kind person, even offering you tea before the fight, but he's reluctantly forcing himself to perform these evil deeds to make his people happy. It's heartbreaking and very complex, so why is he second to last?

Well, sadly, like Asriel, you don't get to spend as much time with Asgore as the other characters, so while his complex actions are very engaging, the player doesn't get to know him all too well.
